Silk Screen Printing Services
Six Color Silk Screen Printing
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil to receive a desired image. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A fill blade or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink through the mesh openings to wet the substrate during the squeegee stroke. Basically, it is the process of using a mesh-based stencil to apply ink onto a substrate, whether it be t-shirts, posters, stickers, vinyl, wood, or other material.
Full Color Heat Transfer
Vinyl transfers are designs cut from vinyl on a carrier sheet. From there it can be applied to garments with a heat press.
Manufacture
Vinyl transfers are cut using a plotter. The design then needs to be weeded - the process of removing the pieces of vinyl that won't be transferred. Once the transfer is ready, it is applied with a heat press.
Application Options
Vinyl can be used to decorate dark or light colored garments, and applied to a wide variety of substrates, from t-shirts to tablecloths.
Quality
Compared to inkjet printed transfers, plastisol transfers, laser printed transfers and opaque transfers, vinyl transfers fare well for print quality and durability, coming in behind only plastisol transfers.
Specialty Techniques
As well as the standard color range there are other options, including glitter and metallic vinyl.
Advantages
Vinyl transfers can be produced in single order quantities, so they are excellent for custom garments, and for decorating a run of shirts with changing information (Example: A player's name and / or numbers on a team uniform). If you want a design on a single dark coloured t-shirt, vinyl is one of the best options.
